A rug-like object made with neon yarn and recycled synthetic backing reflects my formal explorations that negotiate with traditional perceptions of craft — as a practice grounded in material quality and manual precision. Within the tufting technique, I am drawn to the moment of expression and sketch-like incompleteness — an unfinished quality that confronts expectations and opens space for a more intense visual impact. Large, unfilled areas of the background become equal parts of the composition, drawing attention to the everyday, the banal, and the often overlooked. I use fluorescent thread to heighten the “trashy” effect and introduce a tension between form and what is culturally perceived as “valuable.” Installed in the setting of an urban courtyard, the object plays with perception: at night, it reveals its oneiric potential; by day, it blends into the poetics of the everyday. Graduation work completed at the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (2021).
